I sent in a request for a Vulnerability Sector screening in August. I even asked the lady if I could pick it up because if they were to send it to me, it would probably take a few more weeks. It FINALLY came in Monday and all I need is to get it notarized and bring it to a Korean consulate.
I think I'm going to wait until I get my degree in October to do that, because I have to do the same for it.
I also received the application today and filled it out. It was ten pages, but it wasn't too bad. I still need to write an essay for it and get my pics taken in a photo booth.

REFERENCE LETTERS
So... I finally got my hands on BOTH my reference letters.
Let me tell you, they're a hassle and a half.
One of them didn't include an ink signature, which I had to hunt her down for, and that letter took about three weeks to get.
My other one didn't include an official letterhead and spelled my name wrong which also took more time to fix.
But they're finally in my hands and I just emailed them to my recruiter.
What. Up.

FIRST STEPS
I've taken my first couple of steps.
1) I contacted an agency: ESL PLANET (http://www.esl-planet.com/), created an account and uploaded my picture, passport, resume and cover letter.
2) I enrolled in a TEFL course (http://www.teflonline.net/) - This gives me more of a qualification, especially if I want to teach in Seoul.
3) A recruiter (Rowan), then contacted me and asked me where I would like to teach. I said Seoul and Gyeonggi.
4) We set up a Skype interview. My interview was for Saturday, 8:30 AM KST. I was super excited and kept in mind the +13 hour time difference. I went downtown to Toronto and stayed over at a friend's, Friday night.
STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
How did I not realize that our Friday meant it was a Saturday for them? I don't know.
I came home Saturday evening and realized I had made a huge mistake. I thought that our days were still the same, and that there was only the time difference. I missed our interview and I instantly went into panic mode. I emailed Rowan apologizing and feeling extremely guilty. He was really nice and scheduled me in that night.
During our Skype interview, he asked me about myself. And very realistically, told me about what South Korea was going to be like and what to expect. He told me that he's going to try to place me in Seoul (!) Our conversation lasted 20 minutes.
Now, I have a bunch of documents to take care of before anything else can happen:
A) I need to get two different reference letters from two different companies. I need to get the original, ink copy signature and a photocopied version.
B) Fill out the application form.
I'll keep y'all updated!

INTRODUCTION
Hi:
My name is Tiffany, I am 22 years old and I just finished university. I am planning on going to teachers college, but for now, I just want the experience.
I know it's really sad, but I've never been fully self-sufficient. So, I thought, "How can I become independent, really quickly? "
Ah ha! Teaching Abroad!
This blog is going to document my attempt at applying for the job, and if I get it (fingers crossed), my experience.
